Michelle Elena; artist, creatrix and eco-worrier

Art is a calling, a necessity and a passion. It can mean so much more than just being a painter or fine artist producing photo realistic portraits. Creativity can drive people to move past the mundane and explore the extraordinary.

As an 'eco-worrier' (rather than an eco warrior-totally different thing!) I have faced the dilemma that so many creatives have these days- art, crafts and creating can be very bad for the planet! It is up to all of us to look at alternative ways to create using less natural resources, less damaging plastics and wherever possible recycle and reuse our resources. This is not a 'cheap' alternative, it is a way to make art and not constantly plunder the earths resources to do so. Paper and card can be sourced from sustainable sources, clothing can be sourced from ethically run companies and plastic can be reduced to the barest minimum.
We can also develop a whole new brand of creating, deliberately using found objects, recycled fabrics, natural dyes and colours and old unloved items, and make them fabulous again!

I love to teach and often offer free workshops to pass on easy tutorials for people to try themselves- it's good to share! I will also be running courses to guide people who want to develop their creative essence and find a way to relax and express themselves.

Animals are my passion and so much of my art is animal themed for that reason. I will often have items available that have profits going to one of many charities.
I will soon have a podcast available, highlighting the work of so many people who dedicate their lives and careers to animals
